wishful thinking.

I wish it was summer again. I'm tired of the too-short days and the darkness at 5pm and the cold. I'm tired of it all. I wish I was back in Indiana, down at the river, in a canoe in the middle of the summer. But instead I'm here, flipping through pages from the beginning of last year, remembering what it felt like before I made all those memories. January is good for nostalgia.

  10. sometimes, i wish that there were two seasons: the holiday season, and summer. because for when the nostalgia is a bit too much to bear, i think that it's a white Christmas or the kids are heading to the beach, and for some reason, it all feels okay.
this is lovely. i love instax bunches. :)

  12. SO good for nostalgia. I listen to certain songs and they're making me miss my 16th year even though it's not gone yet.

  13. you're perfectly right--january is the best for remembering. it's that time just on the verge between two parts of the year...january wishfully remembers the last year, and yet is excited for the possibilities of the coming year. this month is often overlooked, yet it's beautiful just the same.
    xx.

  16. January is way too good for nostalgia, in my opinion. But then again, it can't be summer all the time! And I love the pictures from your journal- that's such a neat way to remember a certain time in your life! :)

  18. Hey! Think positively. You have light all the way until 5PM! That's a lot! Where I live, right now the sun rises at 10 and sets at 14. That's a whole four hours of daylight, which is luxury after the two-hours-of-daylight we had during December! :)
