An autumn suggestion: replace your bed coverings with white on white on white. A white pillow, sheets, and coverlet are a welcome spot of contrast against the dark gray and russets of the season.
actually, living in texas, when it's usually almost always hot, i transfered my very heavy green and yellow comforter for a simple white duvet and sheets, and pillowcases. it's lighter and i feel a bit cold in the morning, which is what i want. i want to long to stay in bed a little longer. this is lovely. :)

It's a major bonus if the sheets are flannel, too - perfect for the drafty nights (especially if you're perpetually cold like me).
