a week in paint chips.

I've always had a bit of a paint chip fetish. When I was little, my dream job was to be the person who named the paint colours. (what can i say? i dream big.) Whenever we took a trip to the interior shop, you could always find me standing in front of that big wall of paint chips. Awestruck, I'd gaze up at the plethora of colours, picking swatches to my heart's content.

Years later, not a whole lot has changed. I continue to obsess over new hues daily, paint chips are forever scattered across my crafting space, and let's be honest - I still want to be that person who names the swatches. This past week, I documented each weekday in paint chips.

(these two film photos by my crazy-talented friend keila)

This may become an obsession, if it wasn't one already. Which of the colour schemes is your favourite?

  8. Believe it or not, I've always wanted to name the paint colors. I've made bookmarks out of paint chips, and stored so many ideas of inspiration in my head...I'm definitely going to try this out :)

  10. What an awesome idea! My favorite is "collecting pinecones". You girls at Fernweh are so creative! :)

I'll have to try this! You know what's funny? When my parents went shopping last week I asked them to get me paint chips for crafting purposes and they didn't because they didn't want to pick them up when the weren't going to buy paint! I'll have to pick them up on my own :)

P.S. I used to want to name nail polish colors!

  22. I used to collect paint chips, mostly for the array of pretty colours, but i always loved some of the imaginative names.

And your idea of documenting your days in paint chips is quite brilliant and a joy to look at.

  26. This is such a genius idea! I love the color swatches for Goodnight.

I've seen this thing on Tumblr lately. People write poems or a couple lines on a color swatch (or chip) and post it to Tumblr or wherever. I thought that it was a cute idea.
